About

“The More You Sweat in Training, The Less You Bleed in Battle.”

Prevail Training LLC draws upon modern tactical disciplines, Force Science, and varied combative systems for an adaptive, inter-disciplinary, and cross-functional approach embracing close quarters firearms, contact weapons, and hand-to-hand force tactics.

Training topics include:

  • Threat Assessment and Management
  • Use of Force Decision Making and Articulation
  • Hand to Hand Countermeasures
  • Subject Control Tactics
  • Entanglement  in the Weapons Based Environment (WBE)
  • Close Contact Shooting
  • Weapon Retention
  • Edged Weapons

Our take is that practicing fighting skills discretely leaves gaps in preparedness that can be exploited, intentionally or unintentionally, by those not operating under similarly “channeled” constraints.

The baseline is always the WBE, with weapons access (attacker and defender) a primary consideration, even in unarmed application. This alters some common approaches found in the combat sports, the “reality based” self defense and martial arts communities, and the shooting disciplines.

Our training follows Extreme Close Quarters Concepts (ECQC) and related coursework as developed by Craig Douglas at Shivworks, as well as other methodologies and independent practical experience.
